ACEOs #81-#82: Mermaids

These cards are for an ACEO group swap in a German forum. Two cards are duty, a 3rd card is voluntarily.

The task for the 1st card was to draw a nix, in the meaning of water spirit or mermaid or water elf... Combined with a story.
Because I love the idea of mermaids horting treasure collections on the ground of the seas, I had to depict that somehow. I also wanted a Hajib theme. After having googled for some inspiration, I decided to draw what I drew. ^^

The task for the 2nd card was either Kemonomimi or a special mermaid, designed after a fish, for example. At first, I planned to draw a sea urchin, but this didn't work out. Then, I googled for coral riffs and fish from the Ivory Coast coast (coast coast, lol) and I found stamps from the country depicting different local fish. I chose the stamp with the lovely Acanthurus Leucosternon on it xD (Powder Blue Tang/ Powderblue Surgeonfish) and I designed a Côte d'Ivoire mermaid after it.

I love how both cards came out. And drawing underwater worlds is always so much fun. And everytime you go over the lines, you can correct it simply by pretending it's transparent anyway. XD I am sorry for the photo quality, though. The usual "in real it looks so much better" complaint. ;_;
